Everest Challenge

Supporting the local community is an important part of the Elizabeth College aims and ethos, ‘ We also want our pupils to have a higher sense of purpose and strongly encourage them to contribute positively to the community’. Local charity events provide a great opportunity for this and a team of Year 13 students recently seized the opportunity to have fun, and give back to the community, by participating in the long running Everest Challenge. The event is an annual fundraiser for Le Murier School and raises funds for their residential education programme, teams set themselves the challenge to climb as many times as possible within an hour on the indoor climbing wall at Le Murier. In total, across all the teams, nearly £20,000 was raised.
