The external refurbishment of the Gate House at Elizabeth College has begun and will take a number of months to complete.
An important and historic building on the school campus, Elizabeth College is pleased that it is to be upgraded for the enjoyment of future generations. The prominent building, which many people will pass on the Grange, was built in 1829 as the entrance to Elizabeth College – through the now closed arch – and as lodgings for the caretaker.
The building is currently used as the Gatehouse Gallery. Established in 2013, the venue has developed strong links within the art community and regularly exhibits work from students at Elizabeth College as well as other prominent artists.
