Elizabeth College Hockey News

Elizabeth College had an excellent weekend of hockey fixtures at the Upper and Junior School.

The Upper School travelled to Jersey to compete against Victoria College in the annual inter-island fixture. This year saw some great matches with Elizabeth College’s 1st XI, 2nd XI and Year 8 squads winning their games. The Year 10 squad put in a strong performance, but the Victoria College side were victorious on this occasion.

Andy Good, Head of Hockey at Elizabeth College, said: “Our current hockey squads are blessed with some real talent, and for those of us who see the hard work and commitment these boys put in every week, it’s no surprise that their efforts are leading to some great results.”


At the Junior School the Year 6 hockey squad were also in Jersey for the Rathbones Hockey Festival.

Elizabeth College Junior School were outstanding throughout the competition which included Grouville School, Victoria College Preparatory School, St Georges Preparatory School, Jersey College for Girls and St Michael’s Preparatory School. The squad were crowned winners after an exceptional run of matches, where they were undefeated.

Pete Sargent, Head of PE, said: “It was a great experience being in Jersey for the Rathbones Festival. The boys played brilliantly throughout the competition and should be very proud of themselves.”
