The Principal of Elizabeth College, George Hartley, will be leaving Elizabeth College at the end of next academic year to take up the post as Headmaster of The King’s School, Chester with effect from September 2017. He will have been Principal of the College for eight years.

The process for seeking the next Principal has now started and the Elizabeth College Board of Directors is confident that it will be able to appoint a worthy successor, who will help the College to continue to flourish.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Very Reverend Tim Barker, says “I speak for the entire Board in saying say that George Hartley has made an outstanding contribution to Elizabeth College across a very wide range of areas, culminating in the extremely successful ISI Inspection last year.”

“George would be the first to say that the many successes of the College and its pupils during his tenure could not have been achieved without the outstanding support of all the College staff. While he has asked me to emphasise that he will remain fully committed to the College during the year to come, we naturally wish him all the very best for the next stage in his career.”
