Teachers from Elizabeth College Junior School visited Petit Bot on Monday for a training course with Jon Cree of the Forest School Association. At the session they learnt how to use ‘Forest School’ techniques to help the children in their classes develop confidence and creativity by teaching them practical, outdoor skills.
Collecting real world experiences aids traditional learning activities and has a positive impact on the children’s independence and self-esteem. ‘Forest School’ is part of a wider educational mix of outdoor learning at Elizabeth College Junior School, to engage children with the curriculum outside the classroom, as learning outcomes are improved with real life experiences.
