Pupils at Elizabeth College have once again achieved outstanding results in their GCSE examinations. Well over half (54%) the grades were A*/A and 81% were A* to B with 98% of pupils achieved the key measure of 5 or more passes at grades A* to C including English and Maths, a 3% improvement on last year. The results were particularly strong at the top end with nine pupils achieving 10 or more A* grades and over one quarter (21) achieving at least 10 A*/A grades.
Principal George Hartley is thrilled with these excellent GCSE results, he said; ‘these results include many fantastic performances across our notably broad ability spectrum, from boys who have done outstandingly well to achieve C grades to our scholars with their multitudes of A*s. The most important thing for us is that our pupils, who come from a great variety of backgrounds on the island, achieve their very best and flourish within their own areas of interest. This applies to their extra-curricular involvement as much as their academic success and allows them to develop fully as well-balanced and purposeful individuals.’
