Greetings from the Senior Prefect Team!
As a College, we have worked hard over the past few weeks to lead each other through a further COVID challenge. We were possibly guilty of thinking this would not affect us again, and for some it has been completely unexpected. Many of us have had to make sacrifices, large or small, as a result. In times like these it is so important we remember that we have a lot to be thankful for.
The college community is one of constant giving, we continue to break records for the amount of money donated to charity and, needless to say, you have surpassed all our expectations of how charitable a school can be; it is truly humbling for us as a Sixth Form to see lower years display such maturity and compassion.
But maturity and kindness do not disappear in the face of adversity, and neither should yours. Last Friday we missed Loud Tie day in aid of Bowel Cancer Guernsey (Loud Tie Day - Friday 29th January 2021 - Bowel Cancer Guernsey). So this Thursday we will be raising money to support Bowel Cancer Research by wearing a particularly ‘loud’ item of clothing to online lessons (interpret this how you will!). We will be supporting people who face adversity every single day, without an entire college community to support them. People who now, more than ever, need our help.
If you can’t find anything ‘loud’ you can just use the charity’s Teams/Zoom background to show your support – you can download it here: BeTieRific
If you want to take a selfie of yourself in your loud whatever, you can upload it to this folder: Box Folder
Please take part in this ‘Charity Day’ if you can. The suggested donation is £2, but any amount is welcome, so please do pitch in! Donations using the button below will be passed on to Bowel Cancer Guernsey:
