Blind Date with a Book 💕

The Library’s latest initiative is giving reading a surprising twist! More than 50 books have already been snapped up by students eager to discover something new.

The Blind Date with a Book display invites students to step outside their usual reading choices and try something unexpected. Each book is wrapped so the cover and title stay a mystery — the only clue is the genre, displayed on a heart-shaped label.

It’s a fun way to explore new genres, uncover hidden gems, and meet your next favourite book! 📚💘

What a fantastic FriImage attachmentImage attachment+Image attachment

What a fantastic Friday celebrating National Number Day with Ten Town Party Day!

The children had a brilliant morning at ECJS, bringing maths to life through Ten Town – a fun and engaging world where each number from 1–10 is a character with its own personality, helping children develop confidence and enjoyment in early number skills.

The children took part in lots of exciting number-based activities, from making crowns with King One and snowballs with Eric Eight to cooking up some spaghetti with Tia Ten, as well as enjoying a fun exercise class.

A huge thank you to the Upper School Drama students for bringing the characters to life, and to all the staff at ECJS for making the party so special.

Well done Reception and Pre-School – what super mathematicians!

Year 1 have been superheroes this half term!

They’ve invented their own superheroes, written exciting stories, designed eye-catching costumes, and even created superhero vehicles. Today they celebrated the end of the topic with an action-packed Superhero Day!

This morning the children raced their superhero vehicles in the Acorn Hall, with certificates awarded for the vehicle that travelled the furthest, as well as Mrs Atkinson’s top design picks. The children showed fantastic creativity and determination, and proved they’re ready to take on any challenge that comes their way! 💥
