I am delighted to welcome you to Elizabeth College. Founded in 1563 and one of the original HMC Schools, it is a school full of local character with a fascinating history and a great tradition of scholarship. We are very proud of our school, its staff, facilities and the great things it has to offer. But we are most proud of our students who leave Elizabeth College with the knowledge, skills and attributes to live happy and purposeful lives.
Elizabeth College Junior School (ECJS) has been co-educational for many years and I am very pleased that we can now offer all of our students the opportunity to remain part of the College family from the age of two and a half to eighteen – a complete journey from Pre-School to Sixth Form.
At all educational stages we offer a broad and innovative curriculum which has been designed to enable it to be tailored to individual needs. Students thrive both in and outside of the classroom and there is a wealth of opportunities made available to spark curiosity and facilitate the development of their unique talents and interests.
We encourage everyone to explore, to think creatively and to challenge themselves. There are extensive opportunities for all students to become involved in sport, music, art, STEM activities, drama, trips and tours, the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and a host of other activities.
We know that student wellbeing, feeling safe and valued is intrinsic to academic achievement and our PSHE and Lifeskills course runs throughout the College. Students learn to understand themselves and others, to grow in confidence and to become great communicators who will make a positive contribution to the College and wider community. Alongside all of this, students are building friendships that will last a lifetime.
I hope that our website gives you both a sense of the busy, purposeful and vibrant College community and an understanding of the values that are central to life at Elizabeth College.
I look forward to welcoming you for an individual tour or to one of our open days.
