Sixth Form Lifestyle

We understand that by the time our students enter the Sixth Form they are ready to be more independent and trusted, so we offer our Sixth Form students a greater degree of privileges. Sixth Formers can wear their own choice of business suit and benefit from their own dedicated Sixth Form Centre in Perrot Court, including bright and spacious study and social spaces.

In turn we expect our students to exercise greater responsibility in terms of study and school life. Support is readily available, however we expect our Sixth Form students to be independently motivated and take control of their own learning.

Our Sixth Form set the standard for the school; and are prominent role models for our younger students so there are many opportunities for them to play a positive and active role in College activities, often in leadership roles that can help them develop valuable skills.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Years 12 and 13 are an important transition time for students to prepare to move towards university or the world of work. We give our Sixth Form students the chance to be more than just another school student; they can take on a variety of School Prefect roles, representing Elizabeth College and helping to run school events and competitions.

Our Sixth Form students can lead in sport or the Combined Cadet Force or can help in a more pastoral role as a House or Year Group Prefect. Sixth Formers interested in excelling in specific subjects can develop leadership skills by assisting the teaching staff in delivering academic enrichment activities or less formal societies and clubs.

Whatever our students’ interest, we help them develop personally as well as academically in preparing them for the future. All the leadership roles at College allow our Sixth Form students to learn more about themselves and develop the EQ alongside the IQ, skills highly valued by employers and universities.
